NYS School Bus Safety Competition

Rockland Lake State Park (parking field #4)
The 46th Annual New York State School Bus Safety Competition, organized by the New York School Bus Contractors Association (NYSBCA), will be held on the grounds of Rockland Lake State Park (299 Rockland Lake Road ~ Valley Cottage, NY 10989), on Saturday May 20th.
The competition is limited to the first 125 entries received. All contractor and school district drivers are welcome (as long as all other entrance requirements are met).
The entrance fee for the competition is $50.00 per driver for NYSBCA members and $65.00 for non-members and includes lunch.
Registration opens at 7:15AM. All contestants must report to the registration area to receive his/her contestant number and t-shirt. Orientation and a walk-through of the course will begin at 8:00AM, followed by a written exam beginning at 8:15AM.
The field competition will begin promptly at 9:00AM for van drivers and 9:30AM for bus drivers. In order to qualify for the field competition, each contestant’s written exam must be completed prior to the start time above.
Competition vehicles include: large conventional school bus (type C), transit style bus (type D) and conventional size van (type A).

The top winner in each category (conventional, transit and small bus) of this Competition has the opportunity to participate in the National School Transportation Association’s School Bus Driver International Safety Competition (SBDISC), being held July 15-16th in Indianapolis, Indiana.
